Hellenic Consilium of Attica

The Hellenic Consilium of Attica is ostensibly Athens, but in reality covers most of Southern Greece and the Islands. Many of the older mages of Greece are reclusive, and like most mages, minorly paranoid. They don't go out much, don't mingle with strangers often. So, mostly you only see a handful of the 'young ones' who are willing to move into the public forum.

The Hierarch is rarely seen or communicated with directly, instead his Herald is his eyes and ears, and his voice when needed.

The Council of Boulai is made up not from representatives of path or order as are most Consiliums, but representatives of cabals, or cabal alliances. The political structure in Greece is very tight, and these positions, and the right to have your cabal represented on Council, are highly prized and fought over.

As there's no path or order representatives in the Consilium, visitors are encouraged to contact the Herald when planning to enter the city, so that hospitality can be assured.

Rumours of the City

(feel free to add)

  • There are rumoured to be over two-hundred mages within the Hellenic Consilium of Attica.
  • They all came to the old Hierarch's funeral. As did most of the spirits and ghosts in the city.
  • The consilium has a truce/deal with the Mirari, the head of the Fear spirit court.

Additional Settings Information

Here's a brief rundown on things in the venue, everything from Well-Known NPC's and Cabals to the Status rules and Lex Magica of the city.

Notable NPCs

  • Duality - Hierarch - Status 5

Duality's rise to Hierarch was announced officially on Sept 2nd, 2007, after a suitable mourning period for his predecessor had passed.

  • The Boulai - Status 4

They represent their cabals or cabal alliances. There are nine of them. These individuals are usually seen in a white toga with purple trim.

  • Hercules - Deceased Heirarch

This old man is well known to spend nearly as much time politicking among the spirits as he does among men. Having held the Heirarch's seat for the past 30 years, his rule has been effective if sometimes restrictive. He rarely appears in public except for formal occasions, counsil meetings and Court. He grants audiences rarely and only after the matter has been brought before his provost and the Polemarch.

Skinny and just beginning to lose his hair on the top of his head his pale leathery face seems nearly hard as stone and his eyes dart to and fro, seeming to see everything. Most often seen in the formal Purple Toga, a symbol of the Heirarch's position since the days of Rome, He carries himself with dignity and seems always to be busy with something.

The recent revelation of his son's treachery has shaken his hold on the consillium, but he steadfastly attempts to maintain his power over it.

Hercules died late June 2007, and in keeping with tradition his replacement wasn't selected until after a suitable mourning period had passed.

  • Mirari - Head of the Court of Fear.

No one really agrees on what she looks like, but all agree that they've been chilled to the bone upon meeting her. Her Children rule the area around her hotel.

Proxy Information

Sheets should be sent to girc.awakening@gmail.com together with information on desired precast spells and how the character travelled to Athens, where they're staying while in the city, etc.

Ideally, hospitality should be sought from a resident of the city before dropping in, as unexpected visitors can create suspicion and tension. Though it's not a requirement, just polite.

Please see the Shadows of Atlantis VSS#Rules for full proxy requirements.
